American Journalism Review in the Classroom

This guide, intended for college journalism teachers, provides resource links and classroom assignment ideas built around story topics raised in AJR. Harvey, who created the site and writes the tutorials, is a former managing editor of the magazine.

Maryland Newsline

Harvey built this site in late 2000 and launched it in early 2001. Since then, the online newsmagazine has been staffed by undergraduate and graduate students concentrating in online journalism at the University of Maryland College of Journalism. The students serve as multimedia reporters and Web producers. Harvey works as its executive editor during the academic year. This site, which also leverages content from the college's print and TV news bureaus, has won numerous regional and national awards.
